Control4 Home Automation
One app, one remote, one system for the whole house.
ExploreAI Home Automation & Private AI Servers
We build custom automations on a private AI server in your rack room: natural voice, presence-aware scenes, cameras that understand what they see, and a home that anticipates the evening. No cloud subscription, no data leaving the house.
Overview
AI home automation is a layer of custom automation that runs on a private AI server in the home's rack: local speech, language and vision models that understand voice commands, presence and camera events, and turn them into Control4 actions without sending data to the cloud.
Most "AI" in a smart home is a cloud speaker listening for a wake word and a company on the other end. We build the opposite: a purpose-built AI server that lives in your rack next to the Control4 processor and the UniFi gateway, runs local language and vision models, and is isolated on its own network segment. It can hear you, see the cameras and read the sensors, and none of that leaves the property.
On top of it we write the automation your family actually wants. "Josh, we are having people over" sets the terrace, the music and the lighting. The house notices that everyone has left and quietly arms itself. A person on the dock at 3am is a notification with a clip; a raccoon is not. The pool heater starts on the days you actually swim. Each rule is written for your household, tested with you, and tuned after you have lived with it.
Inside the rack room
A conditioned rack with every system in it, labeled, on battery backup and monitored. The lighting panels sit on the wall beside it.
Control4 lighting panels
on the wall beside the rack: every lighting circuit home-run here, so the walls carry keypads only.
Capabilities
A dedicated, GPU-equipped server in your rack running local speech, language and vision models. Isolated VLAN, encrypted storage, no outbound dependency.
Conversational control in every room that understands context: "make it warmer in here", "play what we had last night", "close everything upstairs".
Phones, UniFi Access and occupancy sensors tell the house who is home. Lighting, climate, shades and security follow without anyone touching a keypad.
Local video analytics on UniFi Protect and Luma cameras: people, vehicles, packages, plates and unusual activity, with alerts that mean something.
Learns your schedule and the Miami weather to pre-cool before the afternoon peak, manage pool equipment and cut standby load in unused rooms.
Automations written for your household on Control4 and the AI layer, documented, versioned and revisited after 30 days.
Scope
No. Speech, language and vision models run on the server in your rack, so voice control, scenes and camera analytics keep working with the internet down. Only remote access and streaming services depend on your connection, and those run on the same UniFi network as everything else.
They stay on your server, on encrypted storage, on a network segment that cannot reach the internet unless you allow it. We can set retention to hours or days, and you can wipe it yourself. Nothing is used to train anyone else's model.
No, it sits on top of it. Control4 stays the reliable, dealer-supported layer that switches lights, moves shades and plays music. The AI layer adds understanding: who is home, what was said, what the cameras see, what usually happens at this hour, and turns that into Control4 actions.
