What we do

Four systems carry the house. Everything else rides on them.

The wiring, the UniFi network, Control4 automation and panelized lighting are the foundation. Cameras, shades, audio, access and the AI layer plug into that, from one team.

How it fits together

Built in layers, from the walls up.

Every layer depends on the one below it. That is why we design them together and why the wiring gets as much attention as the keypads.

    The systems you live with

Cameras, shades, audio, intercom and locks, plus a private AI layer that ties them together.

  2. 03

    Control4 & panelized lighting

One processor for lighting, shades, climate, audio, video and security. Keypads on the walls, dimmers in the panels.

  3. 02

    UniFi network

Wi-Fi 7 access points, PoE switching, VLANs and a gateway that also runs the cameras and door access.

    Structured wiring

Cat6A, fiber, panel feeds, keypad and shade wiring, conduit for the future. Pulled before drywall, tested and labeled.

Why EZ Volt

Built by a builder.

EZ Volt is the smart home division of EZ BH Projects, a Miami custom home builder. We learned low voltage on the jobsite, coordinating with electricians, architects and superintendents on estates where nothing could be redone after drywall.

That is why we start with drawings, not product catalogs, and why every system we install is documented well enough that the next person can pick it up in twenty years.

  1. We read plans, and we draw them.A low-voltage drawing set overlaid on the architect's plans: every drop, keypad, camera and speaker, coordinated with electrical and HVAC before rough-in.
  2. We keep the schedule.Prewire at framing, trim at finish, commissioning before move-in. We have been the sub on enough jobs to know what a superintendent needs.
  3. We leave walls alone.Conduit, sealed penetrations and clean paths. In retrofits we fish, use wireless where it is reliable, and finish without patches.
  4. We stay on.Remote monitoring, a 30-day tuning visit and a support team that already knows your rack, because we built it and labeled it.

What clients say

The test is whether everyone in the house uses it.

They walked the framed house with our architect, moved two speaker locations before drywall, and the finished rooms look like nothing was ever there. Everything just works from one app.
Homeowner · Coral GablesNew construction · Control4, panelized lighting, 9-zone audio
Our old system was five apps and a drawer of remotes. EZ Volt replaced it with one remote per room and a single app. My parents can use it. That was the test.
Homeowner · Key BiscayneRetrofit · Control4 upgrade, UniFi network rebuild
As the builder, I need the low-voltage trade to show up on schedule, coordinate with electrical, and hand the owner a system that does not generate callbacks. They do all three.

How Much Does a Smart Home Cost in Miami?

A whole-home smart system for a 4,000 to 6,000 square foot Miami home typically lands between the mid five figures and the low six figures, depending on how many rooms, shades and camera positions it covers and whether it is prewired during construction.

Questions

Straight answers before you commit to anything.

Cost, timelines, hurricanes, condo boards, the router the cable company gave you. We hear the same questions on every walkthrough.

How long does a typical installation take?

A lighting or shade package in an existing home is often one to two weeks on site. A whole-home retrofit runs three to six weeks. New construction follows the builder's schedule: a few days at framing for prewire, then a commissioning period of two to six weeks before move-in, depending on the size of the system.

Can Control4 work with the smart devices we already own?

Usually. Control4 integrates with more than 16,000 devices, including Sonos, Lutron, Apple TV, Roku, Ring, Nest, Ecobee, Yale and most TVs and receivers. During the walkthrough we list what you have and confirm what integrates directly, what needs a small bridge and what is better replaced.

Will the cameras record during a power outage or hurricane?

Yes, for as long as the battery backup lasts. We put the recorder, network switch and router on a UPS sized to the home, and on homes with a generator we tie the equipment room to a generator circuit so recording continues through an extended outage.

How much does a smart home system cost?

It depends entirely on scope. A lighting-and-audio starter package for a few rooms typically starts in the mid four figures. Whole-home systems for a new construction estate are scoped after a plan review and vary with the number of rooms, shades and AV zones. Every project receives an itemized proposal before anything is ordered.
